Visiting UK Rotarians meets the Acting High Commissioner

A team of 5 members from the Rotary District 1100 from the United Kingdom, who are visiting Sri Lanka on a group study exchange programme, met the Acting British High Commissioner Mark Gooding, today.
The five-member team will visit different parts of Sri Lanka and meet their professional counterparts in the fields of primary education, occupational therapy, environmental administration, media, and drug rehabilitation. They will reside with Sri Lankan host families during their stay.
Welcoming the visiting Rotarians, the Acting British High Commissioner Mark Gooding said “The UK and Sri Lanka maintain close relations across a wide range of spheres. I am delighted that the Rotarians have been able to visit Sri Lanka, and am pleased to support their active engagement with their Sri Lankan counterparts to enhance their mutual understanding and friendship.”
The UK Rotarians arrived to Sri Lanka on 29th January and will be visiting the country till 26th February, 2011. The Rotary club of District 3220 Sri Lanka is facilitate the visit. The members of Sri Lankan Rotary club (district 3220) are also scheduled to visit the UK on a similar programme in spring 2012.
